[[Warhammer 40,000]] 중 초판에 등장했던 [[인류제국]] 휘하의 [[아인종(Warhammer 40,000)|아인종]] 세력. 

== 설정 ==
[[오그린]]과 [[래틀링]]처럼, 평범한 인간들이 거주 행성의 고중력 환경에 적응하기 위해 유전공학을 이용하거나 진화하여 체질이 변화된 [[아인종(Warhammer 40,000)|아인종]] 세력이다. 

과거 설정에선 [[STC]] 등의 상당한 수준의 과학기술력을 보유하고 유지했다고 하며. 언제인지는 불명이지만, [[인류제국]]의 일원으로서 함께 했었다가 - 다시 독립했다고 한다. 그러나 스쿼트가 진영에서 삭제된뒤로 설정이 바뀌면서 우리 은하로 들이닥친 [[타이라니드]]에게 멸종당했다고 한다. 

설정 변경이후 이들의 모성인 [[타이란]][* 타이라니드의 첫 제물이 된 행성으로 타이라니드의 이름도 이 행성에서 따왔다.]은 인류제국령 행성으로 변경되었으며 멸종되었거나 혹은 멸종위기라는 설정 탓인지 몰라도 오그린과 래틀링들과는 달리 눈씻고 봐도 이녀석들을 볼수가 없었다.

여담으로 네임드 아인종들인 오그린,래틀링들과 대략적인 신체 능력을 비교하면 [[오그린]]>스쿼트>[[래틀링]] - 딱 중간인 것으로 추측된다.

해머 & 볼터 애니메이션에서 [[트라진]]의 수집품으로 스쿼트가 등장한다. [* 진열된 외형은 [[네크로문다]]의 '스쿼트 현상금 사냥꾼(Squat Bounty Hunter)'의 디자인으로 나왔다.][[카메오]] 출연만도 못한 등장이지만 오랜만에 정식 작품에서 등장했으니 나름 의미가 있다.

== 여담 ==
땅딸막한 생김새와 높은 기술력 등 판타지의 - 특히 [[Warhammer]]의 [[드워프(Warhammer)|드워프]]를 우주 버전으로 옮겨 놓은 컨셉의 진영이다.[* 사실 워해머 40,000의 초판인 Rogue Trader 때부터 Space Dwarfs 라는 이름으로 나왔다.]

구판에는 우주판 [[카오스 드워프]]인 카오스 스쿼트 설정도 있었다. 삭제된 구판의 [[카오스 안드로이드]]를 만든 것이 이들.현재 스쿼트들의 사이킥이나 워프 관련 부분에서 설정이 바뀌어서  이녀석들이 다시 등장할지는 미지수이다.
