제가 한국에 대해 알려주고 처음 조엘을 데리고 한국을 와본 것도 이제 5년이나 됐더라고요!
조엘이 처음 한국 왔을 때 먹었던 첫 한국 음식이 바로 닭갈비였는데!
그래서 이번에도 닭갈비 먹으면서 처음 한국 왔을 때를 회상했어요!
첫날 찜질방 간 거, 한국의 추운 날씨, 피시방에서 밤새운 날들,
영어 선생님 할 때 영국발음 미국발음 뒤섞여서 이상한 말투 된 거 등등!!
옛날얘기를 하다 보니 흑역사가 좀...지못미!!! ㅎㅎㅎㅎ
조엘은 독학으로 한국어 공부를 해서 다른 교환 학생들 처럼 대학 MT도 못 가 봤는데,
그렇다고 한국을 처음 와본 건 또 아니니까 이번 여행은 한 단계 레벨업 해서
한국 MT, 부산 탐방, 시골 체험과 더 많은 것들로 좀 더 깊은 한국 체험을 하게 될 거예요!

Hello! As you all know, Joel and I have been good mates for a long time!
So it happens that it’s been FIVE YEARS since I first took him to Korea!!
In this episode we reminisce about the first time we were in Korea over some Dakgalbi
which was the first meal we had in Korea five years ago!
We talked about the fun times at the Jjimjilbang, Joel’s initial shock to Korea’s climate,
the all-nighters at the PCbang playing starcraft, and memories of teaching Korean kids English!
Because Joel has been self-learning Korean,
he’s never experienced a Korean MT like what an exchange student might!
But it’s not his first time Korea either!
So this time, we take Joel on a next level trip in Korea
where we experience a Korean MT, the Korean countryside, go to Busan, and many more things!!

저는 사실 롯데월드에서 만든 추억들이 진짜 많아요!
한국에 아예 처음 왔을 때 친구들이랑 엄청 재밋게 놀고, 또 올리랑 채널 예고편 찍으러도 왔었어요!
조엘도 롯데월드를 가봤지만 이번 트립은 다 업그레이드 된 여행인만큼!
롯데월드에서 우리가 한국에 있는동안 좀비 테마 이벤트를 한다고 해서,
조엘을 꼭 데리고 가야겠다고 생각했어요!
일반인들도 좀비 분장 할 수 있고, 거기 스텝들도 다 몰입해서 일하시니까 생각 보다 진짜 무서웠어요;;
사실 저는 밤에 가보는건 처음 인데...
우리는 다 큰 성인 남자들인데도 날이 어두워지고 놀이 공원 전체가 좀비들로 가득차니까 정말 너무 무섭더라고요!!
근데 진이 다 빠질 정도로 너무 재밌었어요! 무서운거 좋아하시면 도전으로 강력추천 합니다!!
(VR 체험할때 우리가 바보 같아 보였지만 진심 무서움. 연기 절대🙅)

This week we take Joel to Lotte World and make some pretty terrifying friends! 
I have a lot of memories at Lotte World.
My friends brought me here when I first came to Korea,
and Ollie and I even filmed some of our channel trailer there!
Joel has also been but because this is a “level up trip”
we went in time for the Halloween themed “Zombie Island” to open!!
You can get zombie make-up done and everyone there was super into it
so it made everything really realistic!
This was the first time I've been to Lotte World in the the evening
and when it gets dark things actually get scary!
If you and your friends are up for a good scare then definitely check it out.
And yes, we look like silly school girls walking through that VR experience
but it was genuinely the most terrifying thing I've ever been in.
Legs still slightly shaky.

It was one of the most recommended dishes in the comments
so we headed out to the Busan Jagalchi Fish Market,
and of course your recommendations are always a guaranteed success!
We also happened to go to the best eel place there
so we got the best introduction to live eel possible!
Joel had some bad experiences with Korean seafood
but thanks to the friendliness of Busan people
and the amazing food we managed to turn him around :)

해운대의 조금은 특별한(?) 문화 덕분에, 조엘한테 몰래카메라하기도 딱 좋았어요!

그리고 모르는 사람한테 함부로 불순한 의도로 접근할 사람도 절대 아니구요.
그래서 이번에 바닷가에서 모르는 여자분들한테 말 걸어보게 했을 때 더 웃겼던 것 같아요!

해운대의 특별한 문화에 대한 여러 고정관념들이 있지만,
저희가 이번에 해운대에서 만난 분들이랑, 전에 왔을 때 제가 만났던 분들은 다 정말 친절하셨고,
특히 해운대에 처음 와본 조엘한테 너무 따뜻하게 대해주셨어요.
해운대 아직 한 번도 안가보셨다면 친한 친구분들이랑
바닷가 별빛 아래서 치맥 한잔 하면서 힐링해보시는 건 어떨까요?!

This week we take our friend Joel out to Haeundae Beach in Busan!
This beach is a famous hot spot where hundreds of thousands of young people
gather at night to eat chicken, drink beer, and enjoy the night under the stars by the sea.
There is even a unique culture of mingling and meeting new people
that we use as a great excuse to play a prank on Joel! 

While Joel may talk all tough he’s actually a very sweet guy,
and not someone who would ever approach someone
that he didn’t know with less than honourable intentions.
Which made it all the more hilarious when he found himself in this situation on the beach,
having to try and start a conversation with some ladies that he didn’t know!!

Whatever stereotypes you may have heard about Haeundae or this specific part of Korean culture,
the people we met then and many people that I have met in the past were all extremely friendly
and very welcoming to us and especially to Joel who was there for the first time.
If you’ve never been, I’d definitely suggest going with close friends
and checking out this unique part of Korea!

그냥 막 골목으로 뛰어가서 소리지르다가 정신차리고 편의점 가서 우유에 거의 얼굴 담그다시피 했죠.
제 부인 가비는 근데 하나를 다 먹긴 했는데, 거의 다 먹을 때쯤 거의 울뻔했어요.
근데 이런걸 조엘 안 먹여볼 수 없죠!!!

조엘이랑 정말 한국에서 너무 좋은 시간 보냈고, 여러분들도 조엘 시리즈 재밌으셨길 바라요!
오골계 잡으러 뛰어다니는 것부터 부산 여행까지! 혹시 빼먹고 안 보신 거 있으면 꼭 다시 정주행 고고씽!!!

This week we take Joel to try the Spiciest Street food I've ever come across
- dubbed "you're gonna die" or "you're screwed" flavour chicken skewers!!
This is seriously brutally spicy 🌶🌶🌶🔥🔥🔥
so I wouldn't recommend it unless you are seriously experienced
and have a love of pain! You have been warned. 

When I first tried this I completely lost it - and ran into a nearby alleyway
and just screamed until I could go and buy milk to smother my face in.
My wife Gabie actually finished the whole thing because she doesn't mess around,
but she was literally crying by the end of it.
Of course I knew we had to take Joel, so here you are!!
