오즈의 마법사(영화) 의 'Ding Dong the Witch is Dead'에 대응된다. 정확히는 'Ding Dong the witch is dead'는 동쪽마녀의 죽음, No One Mourns the Wicked는 서쪽마녀의 죽음이다.
무대는 오즈의 지도로 가려져 있고, #1 "Opening"이 시작된다.
[1] 아시아 투어나 내셔널 투어, UK 투어 , 일부 해외 라이센스 공연 등에서는 마담 모리블 역 배우의 안내 멘트가 끝나고 곡이 시작된다
날개달린 원숭이들이 무대를 휘젓고 다니다 곡이 잠깐 끊기면 무대 오른쪽의 크랭크를 돌린다. 오즈의 지도가 올라가며 오즈민(Ozian)
[2]이 엘파바의 실루엣이 사라지는 것을 보며 환호한다.

글린다가 등장해 엘파바가 죽게 된 경위
[4], 엘파바의 출생에 대해 설명하고 오즈민들은 사악한 사람들(The Wicked)에게 애도 따윈 없다고 하며
사회악 취급 오즈에 선(Goodness)이 찾아왔음을 기뻐한다.
[5] 오즈민들은 No one mourns the wicked, 즉 아무도 악인을 애도하지 않는다고 노래 부르지만 글린다는 No, one mourns the wicked로 노래를 불러 오즈민들과는 전혀 다른 뜻인 아니, 애도하는 사람이 한 명 있어라고 하여 홀로 엘파바를 애도하고 있음을 보여준다. 극을 2번 이상 봐야 정확히 알 수 있는 부분인데, 마녀의 죽음에 기뻐하는 오즈민들과 달리 글린다는 친구를 보낸 슬픈 표정을 계속 짓고 있다. 여러 번 본 사람들에겐 극중에서 가장 슬픈 넘버 중 하나.
