영국 스코틀랜드에서 전해져 내려오는 트래디셔널 포크송 . O Waly Waly라는 다른 가사의 곡도 있다.

담담한 기타 선율이 지극히 아름다운 명곡이다. 칼라 보노프가 부른 버전이 멜로디와 환상적인 싱크로율을 자랑하며 많은 사랑을 받았으며, 우리나라에서는 SBS의 두려움 없는 사랑의 삽입곡으로 널리 알려졌다. 또한 영국의 천재 가수로 유명한 샬롯 처치가 부른 버전은 천사의 목소리라고 불리는 특유의 맑은 음색과 악곡의 선율이 잘 어울려서 많은 사랑을 받았다. 영화 린다린다린다에선 무반주 버전이 후반부에 나와 극중 관객과 극 바깥의 관객들을 한꺼번에 압도했다. 대한민국에서는 메이비가 '내 사랑 무덤까지'라는 제목으로 번안했다.

기타에 취미가 있는 사람들에겐 핑거스타일 기타리스트 중 Ed Gerhard와 키시베 마사아키 등이 편곡해서 수록한 곡으로도 잘 알려져 있다.[1]

영어판과 O Waly, Waly 두 가지 버전의 가사는 큰 차이를 보인다. 후술할 가사와 가수들의 버전들을 쭉 듣다보면 같은 버전을 불렀음에도 군데군데가 조금씩 차이 나기도 한다.
