던전 앤 드래곤 시리즈의 등장하는 몬스터.
2. 상세[편집]
'송장벌레'라는 이름 그대로 시체 같은 걸 먹고 사는 대형 벌레 몬스터.
턱에 8개의 촉수가 나 있는 거대한 녹색 애벌레 형상이며, 이 촉수에는 마비독이 있어서 살아있는 대상을 사냥할때는 이를 이용해 사냥감을 마비시킨 뒤 포식한다.
CR은 2로 저레벨 몬스터에 불과하지만 암흑시야을 지니고 어둠속에서 활동하는데다, 후각이 뛰어난 녀석이 한라운드에 8회의 마비공격을 한다는 점 때문에 CR이상의 악독함을 보일 때가 많다.

D&D의 고유 명사(Product Identity)에 속하며, D&D의 정식 라이센스를 획득하지 않았다면 오픈 게임 라이센스를 준수하더라도 사용은 불가능하다.[1][2]
몬타워즈 시리즈에서도 나왔는데 합의를 본 것인 지는 불명.
D&D 1판에서 기본 시나리오로 제공된 가이가의 성에 캐리온 크롤러가 배치되어 있는데, 저 8연 마비공격 때문에 처음 D&D를 하는 파티에게 최초의 고난이 되곤 했다고 한다.
게임 매거진에 연재된 리플레이 천일모험기에서는 마법사가 투척한 나이프로 죽기는 했지만 다른 파티원은 전부 마비되었다는 단독으로 파티를 괴멸 직전으로 몰아넣은 상황을 만들었을 정도. 여담으로 모험이 진행되면서 레벨이 오른 뒤 다른 캐리온 크롤러를 상대로 설욕전을 펼친 적이 있는데 그때도 파티 괴멸상태에서 마법사가 나이프 투척으로 마무리한다는 결과가 벌어져서 참가자들을 빵 터트렸다.
