GSIAS was established in 1996 with great ambitions to cultivate prominent specialists both in international and area studies, by equipping them with competences in various international languages as well as in field expertise of politics, economics, sociology, diplomacy and international trade. Our goal is to enable students to become leaders that compete and cooperate with international peers in the era of glocalization. Our programs are geared towards providing rigorous yet practical knowledge and skills, and even experiences, such that all graduates, upon successful completion, would thrive as competent practitioners, negotiators, organizers, and planners in the global arena.
GSIAS는 1996년 정치, 경제, 사회학, 외교, 국제 무역의 분야별 전문 지식뿐만 아니라 다양한 국제 언어의 능력을 갖추어 국제 및 지역 연구 분야의 저명한 전문가를 양성하고자 큰 포부를 갖고 설립되었다. 목표는 학생들이 glocalization 시대에 국제적으로 동등한 사람들과 경쟁하고 협력하는 리더가 될 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 엄격하지만 실용적인 지식과 기술을 제공하는 데 맞춰져 있으며, 심지어 모든 졸업생들이 성공적으로 수료한다면 세계무대에서 유능한 실무자, 협상가, 조직자, 기획자로서 번창할 수 있을 것이다.

The Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), a university known for its leading role as a powerhouse of foreign language programs, established the Graduate School of TESOL (GS TESOL). The GS TESOL intends to nurture English teaching specialists who take proactive and pragmatic approaches to the application of theory, research, and development in the field of English language learning and teaching.
외국어 프로그램이 강한 학교로서 주도적인 역할을 하는 것으로 유명한 한국외국어대학교(HUFS)가 TESOL(GS TESOL) 대학원을 설립했다. GS TESOL은 영어 학습과 교수 분야에서 이론과 연구, 개발의 적용에 능동적이고 실용적인 접근을 하는 영어 교수 전문 인력을 양성할 계획이다.
Additionally, the GS TESOL trains educators to develop various kinds of English educational content using information technologies and continues to push for fundamental research that will help accumulate and develop professional knowledge. Our exchange programs with prestigious universities around the world also offer students opportunities to experience studying in an academic setting overseas and to build skills that will enhance their current study as well as future personal and professional plans.
또한 GS TESOL은 교육자가 정보기술(IT)을 활용한 다양한 종류의 영어 교육 콘텐츠를 개발할 수 있도록 교육자를 양성하고 전문 지식을 축적하고 발전시키는 데 도움이 될 기초 연구를 지속적으로 추진하고 있다. 전 세계 명문 대학과의 교류 프로그램도 학생들에게 해외 유학 경험 기회를 제공하고, 현재의 학업뿐 아니라 미래의 개인적, 전문적 계획도 향상시킬 수 있는 실력을 쌓을 수 있는 기회를 제공한다.
