1. 개요[편집]
코코소라에서 만든 스마트폰용 게임. 한국에는 '알파카 키우기'라고 알려져 있다.
플레이 방법은 간단하다. 다른 알파카를 터치해서 기절시킨 뒤, 다시 터치해 흡수한다. 알파카를 흡수하면 경험치를 얻고, 경험치를 다 채우면 진화한다. 알파카들은 시간이 지나면 리젠되지만 옆에 뜨는 광고 영상을 봐주면 최대치까지 한 번에 리젠된다. 즉 단순한 플레이 방식을 통한 중독성을 노려, 광고를 계속 보게 하는 것이 목적.
속편이자 프리퀄격인 'Alphaca Evolution Begins'도 있으며, 여기서는 첫 진화 때 Rule(통치)과 Obey(순종)이라는 분기를 고를 수 있다. 첫 진화 모습은 동일하지만 Rule 루트로 진행시 진화할 수록 근육 괴물로 변해가며 Obey 루트로 진행시 진화할 수록 머리가 많아진다. 진행 순서는 첫 루트 → 또 다른 루트 → 첫 루트 순이다. 여기서 알파카의 탄생 비화를 알 수 있다.
개발사의 다른 작품으로는 기린을 소재로 한 'I am Giraffe'[1]가 있다. 이쪽도 진화를 할 수록 점점 이상한 모습으로 바뀌는 건 동일하지만 무슨 크툴루 신화에서나 볼 법한 기괴한 모습으로 변하는 알파카와 달리 원판에서 크게 벗어나지 않는, 코믹하면서도 묘하게 정감가는 디자인이 쭉 유지되기 때문에 그로테스크한 것에 약한 사람이라면 알파카 키우기 보다는 이 앱으로 입문하는 것이 좋다.
2. 알파카의 진화[편집]
다른 알파카를 흡수해서 왼쪽 위의 경험치 게이지를 채우면 진화하게 된다. 다른 알파카는 한 마리당 3EXP[2]를 준다. 각 단계마다 얻어야 하는 경험치의 양이 늘어나며 초과되는 경험치는 이월되지 않는다.
진화하면 알파카의 모습이 바뀌는데 그 모습이 심각하게 괴이하다. 4단계만 되어도 도감 설명이 그는 이미 알파카의 마음을 잃었다. 그림체 자체가 너무나 대충 그려 묘하게 귀여운 그림체인데, 그걸 감안하더라도 그로테스크하다. 다만 저 묘하게 귀여운 그림체 때문에 보고 있으면 또 정감이 가기도 하는 게 문제. 아예 각 진화 단계에 대한 도감 및 설명까지 있어서 수집 욕구를 불러 일으킨다...
아래 레어 단계는 모든 엔딩[3]을 봤을 경우 각 진화마다 10% 확률로 진화한다.[4]
2.1. 진화 단계[편집]
2.1.1. 1단계[편집]
One day, a mutation occured allowing one alpaca to absorb other alpacas. Why he gained such an ability is a mystery.
No one knows how he will evolve as he continues to absorb other alpacas.
Will he be a god, or a demon, or...
어느 날, 한 알파카에게 다른 알파카를 흡수할 수 있게 해주는 돌연변이가 발생했습니다. 어째서 이 녀석이 이런 능력을 가지게 되었는지는 미궁 속에 있습니다.
이 녀석이 다른 알파카를 흡수해가며 어떻게 진화할지는 아무도 모릅니다.
이 녀석은 무엇이 될까요, 신? 악마? 아니면...
동족을 흡수할 수 있는 능력을 가지고 있어 진화가 가능하다.
30 EXP를 모으면 다음 형태로 진화한다.
2.1.2. 2단계[편집]
The alpaca has become bipedal.
His front legs have developed and can now be used freely as arms.
He mainly attacks using his hands. In his free times, he smokes cigarettes. Just because he can.
His mental faculties have also developed:
he can understand a little human language and a little brutality is detected.
About as strong as human.

2.1.3. 3단계[편집]
A form with remarkably developed arms.
His attack is a clubbing motion using both of these: brutality is on the increase.
However, since the structure of his skin remains that of a normal alpaca.
He is unable to withstand his own strength and takes damage every time he attacks.
At a level where a human could not take him in a fight unarmed.
눈에 띄게 팔이 발달한 형태입니다.
그의 공격은 그 두 팔을 사용해서 때립니다. 잔인성은 점점 증가하죠.
그러나, 피부의 구조는 아직 일반 알파카의 그것으로 남아 있습니다.
그는 그의 힘을 견뎌낼 수 없어 그가 공격할 때마다 피해를 입습니다.
인간으로써는 비무장 상태로 그와 맞서 싸울 수는 없습니다.
자기 팔을 감당할 수 없을 정도로 발달하여 공격할 때마다 데미지를 입는다고 한다.[5]
팔로 내리찍어서 공격을 하며, 100 EXP를 모으면 다음 형태로 진화한다.
2.1.4. 4단계[편집]

Both arms are injured due to the damage caused by his own attacks.
Abandoning those old, dysfunctional arms, he developed new ones.
His cellular makeup is already a far cry from that of an alphaca, and his skin is tough as steel.
There are no longer any creatures on Earth that can defeat him.

His initial head deemed useless, multiple new candidate heads have formed.
A transformation of his hardened skin has resulted in a temporary, soft flabbiness.
Only his legs are functioning, so he attacks by flailing his upper body.

Due to further development of his mental faculties, something like a head has grown.
However, since his mental and physical develpment are not proceeding at the same rate, he lacks full control over it.
Attacking and absorbtion are happening via both orders from the brain and conditioned response.
It won't be long before he evolves into his final form.

A unicycle is his main mode of transportation, but he's hopeless when it comes to braking.
Since he can't stop in time, he loses balance and deals damage by crashing into his opponents.
Basically a negative thinker and a mama's boy.
But don't let your guard down. Will you be able to take the insanity ahead?

Life functions are in decline. In a way, he's more like an object.
His absorption of other alpacas has become mechanized, an unconscious act.
The many faces covering his body serve practically no purpose.
Since the central brain is still alive, he can speak a little human language.

If he wants to continue life as an alpaca, it seems he'll need to absorb more powerful beings.

2.1.10. 10단계[편집]
The alpaca, having finally absorbed beings more powerful than the living.
Providence spurned, his transformation into an evil deity is complete.
Possessing the rage of God, he sets out to rain down the judgement of God.
What will he do next? Will the good old days ever return?
마침내 살아있는 생물보다 더 강력한 존재들을 흡수한 알파카.
신의 섭리가 꺾이면 그의 악신으로의 변신이 완료됩니다.

2.1.11. 11단계[편집]
The alpaca, having absorbed an angel.
He locks his heart further inside, coating his body with the cells of the gatekeepers and angels he has absorbed.
An alpaca who senses a confrontation with the absolute being is close at hand.
Perhaps that is the reason he protects his body with angel and gatekeeper cells.
The alpaca's final battle is about to begin.
천사를 흡수한 알파카.
그는 그의 심장을 더 깊숙한 곳으로 보호하고, 그가 흡수한 문지기들과 천사들의 세포로 그의 몸을 덮었습니다.

신을 처치하면 신을 흡수하겠냐는 알림이 뜨며[9] 신을 흡수할 경우 12단계로, 인간을 흡수[10]할 경우 13단계로, 알파카를 흡수[11]할 경우 14단계로 갈 수 있다.
2.1.12. 12단계[편집]
The alpaca has become a new God.
Now he is free to absorb living things as desire and insinct dictate.
In due course, new life will spring forth and new worlds will form, but the moment they appear they will be forcibly reminded they are a part of God.

2.1.13. 13단계[편집]
All is lost. He is naught but an evolved alpaca.
The body floating in midair is just an object, and nothing flows through its multitudinous tubes.
With nothing left, the alpaca devotes himself to multiplying.
This endeavor has nothing approaching meaning. As for what he becomes, what happens next, the alpaca cares not.

The alpaca thinks it optimal that people and alpacas establish good relations.
That's quite a human way to think, wouldn't you say?
Conspicuously wielding power while pursuing harmony would only invite instability.
Going as far as to abandon power in his quest for peace, the alpaca will probably face many obstacles and have a hard time.
The same as a human. It is by withstanding pain and suffering that harmony is achieved.

It seems the alpacas are going camping. Sweet air, refreshing green. They'd like to have a BBQ in such an atmosphere.
But apparently renting a venue is rather expensive; the leader leaps into action.
To make it even cheaper than just splitting ingredient costs, he calculates the magic number of participants that would result in a group rate.
Time to round up the alpaca BBQ gang!

2.1.16. 레어 2단계[편집]
The alpaca loves ice cream.
He especially likes vanilla and apparently doesn't care for chocolate, strawberry, or the like.
If the vanilla is too coconutty he won't like it either, and he refrains from using those car freshener things that reek of vanila.
But he does like vanilla.
아이스크림을 좋아하는 알파카.
그는 특히 바닐라를 좋아하고 초콜릿, 딸기 따위를 좋아하지 않는 것 같습니다.
만약 바닐라가 너무 코코넛 같으면 그는 좋아하지 않고, 차의 방향제에도 바닐라 향을 사용하는 것을 꺼립니다.

2.1.17. 레어 3단계[편집]
The alpaca appears to think it optimal that people and alpacas establish good relations, but he doesn't seem to have thought too hard about it.
He's doing like, king cosplay or something, as if when the going gets rough he can just take off his wig to forget everything.
Well, you only live once! As long as he doesn't bother people too much he can do what he wants, right? Probably.
2.1.18. 레어 4단계[편집]
The alpacas, having arrived at the BBQ venue.
Since they didn't reserve ahead of time, they are wandering around looking for an open space.
Somewhere along the way, the alpacas who were forced to come all left to go shopping for supplies and never came back, so it looks like the group is down to the original four.
At this rate, the price per head will go up, so it seems they're going to start rounding up friends again.
2.1.19. 레어 5단계[편집]
The alpaca had been admiring Centaurus.
Since he wasn't a human or a horse, he figured he might be a centaur based on appearance.
However, in trying to evolve into something like that, it looks like he ended up with four hind legs.
He felt like shouting, 'A stinkbug?!' but seeing as he cut a somehow decent figure, he thought, 'Well, this'll do,' despite having trouble moving.
2.1.20. 레어 6단계[편집]
The BBQ finished without incident.
With the tidying up complete, the relaxing alpacas just now realized they can't drive home becuase they've been drinking!
Luckily this BBQ area is also a campground.
The alpacas rented sleeping bags and a tent from the manager's office, but they've used up all their money.
At this rate they won't be able to afford a place to pitch the tent! And so, they set about rounding up friends to stay with them...
2.1.21. 레어 7단계[편집]
He absorbed so much. So much absorbing!
In the process he ended up absorbing worldly bonds and became a completely corrupt adult.
If only he could be a pure and innocent child again, he'd quit absorbing and become a snow-white grown-up...
The alpaca's wish was granted! Good for him, this time he'll gorw up fine!...Except he's absorbing again?!
2.1.22. 레어 8단계[편집]
Upon absorbing the final alpaca necessary for his evolution, the alpaca felt an evil stir within him.
From his head, antlers sprouted, and in his hand was found the flesh of cowards (chicken).
From nowhere in particular came a shout of "Gyaaaaaooooringalinglingling!"
Lights sparking with the colors of happiness on nearby houses brightened both the night sky and the moods of passersby.
Merry Christmas!
2.1.23. 레어 9단계[편집]
Everything went dark. When he came to, he was in some house near its toasty fireplace.
In the alpaca's line of sight was an old dude dressed in red who had nodded off as if his head had melted in the fireplace's heat.
If that guy woke up, it was game over for the alpaca.
At this rate, he would be loved by children all over the world.
Taking a gift box for warmth, he ran off in search of an alpaca to take place.
2.1.24. 레어 10단계[편집]
To mark the release of 'Alpaca Evolution' spin-off app 'I'm Giraffe,' the main character came out to play.
You can switch off playing Alpaca > Giraffe > Alpaca, or Giraffe > Alpaca > Giraffe is also fun!
The giraffes can be a bit wily - when they get tired they'll pretend their feet hurt and go to take a break.
But please make friends with Giraffe! He's shiny.
