2012년 11월 9일에 발매된
라나 델 레이의 EP. 1집의 히트에 힘입어 연장선으로 발매되었다.
비교적 현대적인 1집보다는 보다 종교적이고 웅장한 곡들이 많다. 리패키지의 수록곡 Body Electric, Gods & Monsters, Yayo를 합쳐 Tropico라는 단편영화형 뮤직비디오가 공개되었으며,
아담과 이브가 모티브이다.
Born to Die가 전 세계적으로 대성공을 거두며 화려하게 메이저 데뷔를 마친 후, 두 번째 앨범 작업을 위해 스튜디오에서 작업 중이라고 6월 15일 인터뷰에서 밝혔다. 차기 싱글로 'Young and Beautiful'과 'Body Electirc'이 언급되었지만 둘 다 무산되었다.
2012년 7월 25일, 정규앨범은 연기하고 Born to Die를 Paradise Edition라는 이름으로 재발매할 것을 발표했다. 이전 앨범 프로듀서들과 다시 한번 작업을 하였다.
2012년 9월 24일, 앨범 녹음은 끝났고 Paradise 발매일과 트랙리스트, 커버를 공개했다.
10월 10일, 첫 싱글 Ride의 10분짜리 비디오가 공개되었다.
11월 13일, 두 번째 싱글로 Cola가 발매될 것이라 했지만 결국 취소되었다.
2013년 2월 14일, Burning Desire'의 뮤직비디오가 공개되고 3월 19일, 정식 싱글이 되었다.
첫 주 67000만 장을 팔며 빌보드 200에서 10위로 진입했다.
