2.1. Shooting Star (Roger Bart Version)
1997년 개봉한 디즈니 애니메이션
헤라클레스의
사운드트랙이다.
앨런 멩컨이 작곡, 데이비드 지펠이 작사하였으며 팝 버전을
보이존이 불렀다.
작중에서
헤라클레스가 다른 별들은 멈춰있지만 그 사이를 여행하는 유성처럼 현재는 자신이 다른 사람들에 섞이지 못하고 고통받아도 언젠가는 자신이 속하는 곳을 찾게 될 것이라는 노래이다.
D23 엑스포에서 감독들이 밝힌 바로는 헤라클레스가 밤하늘에서 발견하고 자신과 동일시했던 유성은 사실 헤라클레스를 보호하며 지켜보고 있던
페가수스였다고 한다. 어린 시절 헤어졌던 헤라클레스와 페가수스가 제우스 신전에서 재회하는 장면에서 하늘에서 별이 내려와 페가수스가 되는 듯한 연출이 사용된 이유가 바로 이 때문이다.
노래가 완성된 뒤 헤라클레스 역의 로저 바트의 목소리로 녹음이 완료되었고 오케스트라 반주도 녹음되었으나 제작 과정에서
Go the Distance로 대체되어 삭제되었다. 그 흔적으로 Shooting Star의 스토리보드에 있던 헤라클레스가 돌을 던져 물수제비를 뜨는 장면과 밤에 나무 위에 올라가 유성을 바라보는 장면이
Go the Distance에 사용되었고,
마이클 볼튼이 부른
Go the Distance 팝버전의 가사에 유성이 언급된다.

또한,
아기 헤라클레스가 납치되는 장면에서 배경 음악에 Shooting Star의 테마가 흐르는 것을 들을 수 있다. 팝 버전을 부른
