지난 11월 5번째 미니앨범 [ColoRise]로 다채로운 매력을 보여준 Weeekly (위클리)가 Digital Single [Stranger]로 돌아왔다.
이전 앨범에서 다양한 장르의 곡으로 대중들을 사로잡았다면, 이번 앨범에서는 English Ver. 을 수록하여 차분한 분위기와 누구나 쉽게 공감할 수 있는 가사의 곡으로 국내뿐 아니라 세계시장을 겨냥한다.

지난 1월 6일, 첫 팬미팅 WU (Weeekly University)에서 선공개 되었던 ‘Stranger’는 미니멀한 트랙 위에 풍성한 코러스와 아련하고 애절한 보컬이 더해진 곡으로, 꿈을 향한 시련과 도전을 이어가는 ‘Stranger’ Weeekly (위클리)를 담고 있다. 곡의 전반부에서 보여주는 어두운 분위기의 가사는 곡의 후반부로 갈수록 전과는 상반되는 희망적인 느낌의 코드 진행과 가사, 점차 고조되는 곡의 구성으로 이어진다. 이는 아프고 상처 입었지만, 희망을 향해 나아가는 Weeekly (위클리)의 모습을 잘 보여주며, 노래를 듣는 모든 이들에게 아련함을 자아낸다.

데뷔 이후 처음으로 선보인 애니메이션 뮤직비디오에서는 가사의 내용처럼 Weeekly (위클리)의 여정에 대한 스토리로 여러 좌절과 고통을 마주한 후 얼어있던 Weeekly (위클리)의 마음을 녹인 건 다름 아닌 Daileee (데일리)라는 내용을 보여주며, 여실한 팬 사랑을 과시했다.

1년 7개월의 긴 공백기 이후 앨범을 발매했음에도, 그 인기와 실력을 증명하며 성황리에 활동을 마친 Weeekly (위클리)가 2달이라는 짧은 시간 안에 첫 팬미팅과 디지털 싱글 앨범을 발매하며 공격적인 활동을 이어가고 있다. 2024년에 단단히 성장할 Weeekly (위클리)를 주목하자.
