팀 라이스가 작사,
엘튼 존이 작곡했다.
작중 아이다가 메렙과 함께 몰래 아모나스로의 감방에 들어가 아버지를 만나게 된다. 메렙이 아이다에게 암네리스의 결혼식을 통해 아모나스로를 탈출시킬 계획이라고 이야기하고, 아이다가 아버지와 나라를 위해 자신의 사랑을 저버려야 하는 상황에 고통스러워하는 곡이다.
뮤지컬 넘버를 작업하던 1996년 작곡했다. 엘튼 존은 미국 조지아주 애틀랜타의 퍼플 드래곤 스튜디오에서 데모를 녹음했지만 발매하지 않았다.
1999년 콘셉트 앨범
Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida에서는
티나 터너와 베냉 출신의 싱어송라이터 앙젤리크 키조가 불렀다. 티나 터너가 리드 보컬을 맡았고 앙젤리크 키조는 백 보컬을 맡았다. 대부분의 수록곡들과 마찬가지로 엘튼 존의 데모를 기반으로 녹음되었고, 7분이 넘는 데모에서 2분 정도 단축한 5분 12초 정도의 길이로 녹음되었다. 미국 뉴욕주 뉴욕의 소니 뮤직 스튜디오와 영국 런던의 타운하우스 스튜디오, 올림픽 스튜디오에서 녹음되었다.
